Title: Listening to God’s Direction

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21.

Have you ever been on a journey and weren’t sure which way to go? Maybe you were in a new place and needed directions, or you had to make a choice and didn’t know what to do. In those moments, it can be really helpful to have someone guide you and tell you the way. Did you know that God wants to be that guide for you every day?

God loves us so much that He wants to guide us in the right direction, like a good friend helping us on our journey. Sometimes we might not know which way to go, but God promises that we will hear His voice behind us, saying, “This is the way, walk in it.” Isn’t that amazing

In the Bible, in the book of Isaiah, it says, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.” This means that if we listen carefully, God will speak to us and show us the right path to take. He will guide us in the way that is best for us, even when we don’t know which way to go. Just like when you’re walking and someone tells you which way to turn, God is always there to guide us when we need help. Whether we’re feeling happy and want to go right or feeling unsure and want to go left, God is there to show us the way. But here’s the thing, sometimes we might hear God’s voice in our hearts, but we might want to go our own way instead. We might think we know best, but God’s way is always the best way for us. When we listen to His voice and follow His guidance, we’ll always be on the right path.

So, how can we listen to God’s voice and follow His direction? First, we need to spend time with Him, just like we would with a good friend. We can talk to Him through prayer and listen for His response. Sometimes, He speaks to us through a verse in the Bible or a thought that comes into our minds. Other times, He uses the wisdom of people around us, like our parents, teachers, or mentors.

But how can we be sure it’s really God’s voice we are hearing? Just like any good guide, God’s voice will never contradict what is in His Word, the Bible. If something we hear goes against what we read in the Bible, then we know it isn’t God speaking to us. His voice will always line up with His teachings and bring us peace.

God is our loving Heavenly Father, and He wants what is best for us. Sometimes, following His direction may not be the easiest or most popular choice, but we can trust that His way is the right way. He sees the bigger picture and knows what is ahead, even when we can’t see it. All we need to do is trust Him and take that first step in faith.

So, as you go about your day, remember to listen carefully for God’s voice. He wants to guide you and show you the way. He will never lead you astray but will always lead you closer to Him. When you hear His direction, be brave and follow His lead. He will always be there to guide and protect you.

Thought for Reflection/Life Application:
God’s guidance is like having a personal GPS for our lives. Just as we trust a GPS to direct us on the right path, we can trust God to guide us in the right direction. When we listen to His voice and follow His lead, we can be confident that we are walking in His perfect plan for us. Today, let’s think about how we can listen for His voice and follow the way He shows us. When we trust God’s guidance, we’ll always be on the right path.

Song
He leadeth me: O blessed thought!
O words with heavenly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be,
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

Refrain
He leadeth me, he leadeth me,
By his own hand he leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by his hand he leadeth me.

2
Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,
By waters still, o’er troubled sea,
Still ’tis his hand that leadeth me.

Prayer
Dear God, thank you for being my guide and showing me the right way to go. Help me to hear your voice clearly and have the courage to follow your direction. Sometimes, it’s hard to know what to do, but help us to trust in your perfect plan for our lives even when it seems difficult or confusing knowing you have the best plans for me. Sometimes we might feel unsure or lost or want to go our own way,, but we know that You are always there to lead us on the right path. Give me wisdom and understanding each day, and may we walk in your way with joy and experience the abundant life you have promised. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
