Title: Finding Peace in Doing What’s Right

”There is no peace,” says the LORD, “for the wicked.” Isaiah 48:22

Have you ever thought about what it means to have peace? Or have you ever felt like you just can’t find peace? Maybe you feel worried or stressed about something in your life. It’s important to remember that God promises peace to those who follow Him.
But did you know that the Bible tells us something important? God says, “There is no peace for the wicked.” That might sound a bit scary, but let’s understand what it means.

Peace is when everything feels calm, happy, and just right. It’s like a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. When the Bible talks about the wicked, it means people who do bad things, like lying, being mean to others, or not listening to God. Those things can make our hearts feel all mixed up and not peaceful at all. So, God telling us that there is no peace for the wicked, means that when we choose to do things that are wrong or that go against God’s ways- do things that are not pleasing to God, we won’t be able to find true peace in our hearts. Sin and bad choices can lead to a lot of chaos and trouble in our lives, making it hard for us to find true peace and happiness.

Imagine trying to play your favorite game, but you keep getting interrupted or someone is being mean. It wouldn’t feel very fun or peaceful, right? That’s how it is when we do things that are wrong.

So how can we find peace? The key is to follow God’s ways and seek His guidance in everything we do. When we choose to do what is right and pleasing to God, we will experience His peace in our lives. However we can’t ignore our mistakes and expect everything to be okay. God says, “There’s no peace for those who keep doing wrong.” God offers us a way to have real peace! God offers us forgiveness and a way to find peace through Jesus Christ. So, if we want peace and happiness, we need to give our lives to Jesus.

God is always trying to bring us closer to Him. Let’s open our hearts to His love and see how wonderful He is. When we follow Him, our lives become better and we become His special children. This doesn’t mean that we won’t face challenges or difficult situations, but it means that we can trust God to help us through those times and give us a sense of peace that goes beyond our understanding. When we trust in Him and follow His ways, When we choose to do what’s right, when we listen to God and treat others with kindness, that’s when our hearts feel peaceful and happy.

God wants us to be like shining stars, bringing peace and happiness wherever we go. When we follow His ways, it’s like we’re walking on a path filled with peace and joy.

So, let’s remember this verse: “There is no peace for the wicked.” is a reminder that doing wrong things won’t bring us true peace. But when we choose to do what’s right, God fills our hearts with His wonderful peace. This peace is not just a feeling of calmness, but it is a deep sense of contentment and joy that comes from knowing we are living in a way that honors God.

So the next time you feel worried or anxious, take a moment to pray and ask God for His peace. Remember that true peace comes from following God and living according to His ways. Trust in Him and He will give you the peace that you need.

Thought for Reflection/Life Application:
Today, let’s think about the choices we make. When we choose to be kind, helpful, and honest, we are choosing the path of peace. Remember, true peace comes from doing what’s right in God’s eyes. Let’s ask ourselves: “How can I bring peace to others today?”

Song
Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed?
To do the will of Jesus: this is rest.

Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for loving us and showing us the way to peace. Help us to remember that true peace comes from doing what’s right. When we feel tempted to do wrong, remind us of Your love. Help us to choose kindness, love, and honesty every day. When things get tough, remind us that You are with us, guiding us toward peace. Guide us to walk in Your ways and fill our hearts with Your peace so we can share Your peace with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
