Title: God, Our Mighty Protector
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, Or the captives of the righteous be delivered? But thus says the LORD: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, And the prey of the terrible be delivered; For I will contend with him who contends with you, And I will save your children. Isaiah 49:24, 25.
Have you ever wondered how a powerful warrior could be stopped, or felt like you’re stuck in a tough situation, like a prisoner captured by a powerful warrior? Maybe you’re facing something that seems too big for you to handle. Well, I have some amazing news for you! God promises something amazing!
In the Bible, in the book of Isaiah, God says something really special: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible be delivered.” This means that no matter how strong the enemy seems, God is even stronger! He promises to fight for us and rescue us from anything that tries to capture us. God told the people of Israel, “I will fight for you and save your children.” Even when it seems too big for us, God is stronger than anything that tries to capture us.
Imagine this: You’re playing a game, and it feels like you’re losing. But then, out of nowhere, the strongest superhero comes to your rescue! That’s what God does for us. He is like our superhero, coming to save us when we need Him the most. God says, “I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.” This means He’s on our side, ready to fight for us and protect us.
A preacher once said something really cool: “When things are tough, don’t give up. Stand still and trust God. Let Him take care of the hard stuff. Remember, your battles are not yours, they belong to the Lord, and He will bring you victory.”
So, if you’re facing something really big and scary today, remember to give it to God. He’s got a plan to make things work out, even when it seems impossible. Just like He rescued the people in the Bible, He will rescue you too. You can trust Him to be your mighty rescuer!
Thought for Reflection/Life Application
My friend, God is stronger than any problem we face. When things seem too big for us, we can trust that God is fighting for us and He will bring us victory. Your job is to allow Him to have His will and way in our lived and to trust that He is doing all things for your good and His glory. Remember, He is our superhero, ready to rescue us whenever we need Him.

Prayer:
Dear God, Thank you for being so big and strong. Thank you for being our mighty rescuer. Lord, too often I have tried to fight my battles on my own, not trusting you to work all things out for my good. I have quickly found out that I am not capable of handling things. Lord, please forgive me for not trusting you, and believing that you are able to do exactly what you say you can do. I have messed up. Thank you for reminding me that when I face big challenges, I can trust in Your power to help me. Just like You fought for Israel, we believe You are fighting for us too. Help us to remember that our battles belong to You, and You have a plan for victory. We trust in Your power and love.In Jesus’ name, Amen.
