Title: SKILLED IN GOD’S WORD

“The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.” Isaiah 50:4

Do you ever feel tired or weary, like you need someone to encourage you? In the book of Isaiah, God talks about a special servant who has a unique gift. This servant has “the tongue of the learned,” which means he knows just the right words to say to help those who are tired or feeling down. God has given him wisdom and understanding, so his words can comfort and encourage others.

This servant is like the best friend you could have. When you’re feeling sad or weary, he knows exactly what to say to make you feel better. His words are like a warm hug for your heart.

Not only does this servant speak kind and wise words, but he also listens to God every morning. Just imagine waking up every day and listening to God’s voice, like a special secret between you and Him.
This servant is a great example of how we should listen to God too.

God wants us to be like this servant. He wants us to speak in pleasant tones, using words that are kind and show good manners. When we speak with love and kindness, it’s like giving a gentle shower to someone’s soul, making them feel refreshed and happy.

Let’s remember to speak words of kindness and love, just like the servant in Isaiah. When we do, we show God’s love to the world around us.

Thought for Reflection / Life Application:
As God’s children, He wants us to be skilled in His words. This means letting the Holy Spirit guide what we say. We should avoid saying things that are foolish or mean. Instead, our words should lift God up and make others want to praise Him too. God has given each of us the ability to speak with kindness and wisdom. Just like the servant in Isaiah, we can use our words to bring comfort and joy to those around us. Let’s ask God to help us listen to His voice every day, so we can speak in a way that makes others feel loved and valued. Let’s practice speaking with kindness and love, just like the servant in Isaiah. When we do, we become messengers of God’s love to everyone around us.

Song
Give me the Bible, star of gladness gleaming,
To cheer the wanderer lone and tempest tossed,
No storm can hide that peaceful radiance beaming
Since Jesus came to seek and save the lost.
Refrain
Give me the Bible—Holy message shining,
Thy light shall guide me In the narrow way.
Precept and promise, Law and love combining,
’Til night shall vanish In eternal day.

Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for waking us up each morning and thank You for teaching us how to speak with kindness and wisdom. Help us to listen to Your voice and be ready to encourage others when they need it. Help us to be like the servant in Isaiah, using our words to bring comfort, joy and encouragement to others. Guide us to listen to Your voice each day, so we can speak in a way that glorifies You. Amen.
