Anukwuem Family Celebrates Easter With Community, Gives Palliatives

With sense concern for harsh economic downturn and the attendant hunger in every part of Nigeria, the Anukwuem family delivered to the families of Umuode Orie- Oji in Ihinna autonomous Community in Ihitte-Uboma local government area of Imo State.

The concerned family donated food and other relief items to families for the Easter celebration, a gesture that sprung up emotions of gratitude.

The cheering event took place on Easter Monday, April 1, 2024 at the country home of Anukwuems in Umuode, Orie-Oji.

The facilitator, Dr. Obioma Anukwuem, in concert with his elder brother, Chief Dr. Sir Okey Anukwuem JP, former Commissioner for Special Duties, Imo State Government, delivered the materials.

According to one of the kinsmen, Ikechukwu; “the Anukwuem family has always been a blessing to our community because of their hearts of giving an care for ithers.

“When their mother, Lolo Jemima Amanda Anukwuem was with us, she advocated for extension of goodwill to those who are going through life challenges. In loving memory of Mama, his the family constituted Jemima Adanma Anukwuem charity foundation”, through which they have been relieving their mother’s care and wishes before her transition.

It was a carnival-like atmosphere in the home of the Anukwuem’s as the entire Umuode Orie-oji people with happily gathered together at the expansive compound of the Anukwuem’s to receive palliatives.

The Chairman of the event, High Chief C.C Anyanwu, kick-starting the programme, called for a minute silence in respect of all the Anukwuem’s that have since passed on. Eulogizing the family and outlining great attributes of the family which is being relived.

In an expository opening remark, Chief Okey Anukwuem, acknowledged the height of suffering experienced by Nigerians. Promising henceforth to always gather his siblings to keep doing more palliative giveaways for ndi Umuode so as to help cushion the effect of the current economic crunch on the people.

The people prayed for the Anukwuems, and sang edifying songs in appreciation and gratitude to them. The day was simply electrifying. Everyone who came left with foodstuffs and cash gifts..
