BREAKING: Dangote Refinery On Fire
Fire outbreak has been reported at Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical, Lekki, Lagos, which is yet to reach up to 50 percent production capacity.
A video seen by News Express this Wednesday afternoon, June 26, 2024, showed fire raging at parts of the refinery, which recently started operation.
A terse statement by Dangote confirmed the fire but described it as minor, saying that it has been contained.
“We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.
“There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to any of our staff on duty,” Dangote Industries Limited said in the statement signed by Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina.
