Prince Eze Madumere @60: Echoes Of His Legacy Of Peace Building

Former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has clocked 60, a landmark Birthday anniversary.

Prince Eze Madumere, an entrepreneur and businessman served the State as Chief of Staff, Government House and later Deputy Governor of the State between 2011 and 2019.

While Deputy Governors are hardly heared, Prince Eze Madumere carved a niche for himself by his positive disposition to bequeath the State a legacy of peace and tranquility by some of his initiatives in the Oil bearing communities. Little wonder peace reigned and reactiveness were hardly heard of. A typical Crisis Management successes attained by a master. Not a single life was lost when he had the opportunity to lead out in the area.

He achieved the same feat in Irete Community where he resolves age long skirmishes between Nigerian Bottling Company PLC and Irete youths.

He went ahead to pursue an unfinished business of the predecessor Government by attracting Fadama III (additional financing), Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP). RAMP was envisioned to give Imo State over 400 kilometers of Road across the Communities. Unfortunately, that project seems to have been mismanaged by greedy politicians who chose to put their personal interest first over that of the people.

Recall that Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha pursued the project with vigour. However his administration was short lived. One wonders what happened to RAMP after Ihedioha exit following a controversial ruling by the apex court of the land.

With the Federal Government efforts in the State in fixing the Federal Roads, by now Imo State would have become a near eldorado in the area of Roads and infrastructures. Effort at troubleshooting the clogs at the wheel of the progress of the Project met a brick wall as the Project Staff kept sealed.lips.

Madumere kept fate with the State on his statutory responsibility as the Chairman of Boundary Commission, he painstakingly managed the skirmishes and averted blood shed. These achievements were possible because he was proactive and understood the fundamentals of negotiation and principles of state crafts and engagements.

Prince Madumere’s 60th Birthday according to the family and political family will not be marked as it used to be despite the import of the age. This may not be unconnected with the fact that he lost his beloved Mother, Ugoeze Marlinda Chikanele Ulunma Madumere who was finally laid to rest on June 28, 2024.

Prince Madumere’s silence in the scheme of things in the State has been questioned from different quarters. While no answer has been advanced directly or directly why the political sabbatical, he seems to have chosen to leave the scene over an undisclosed irreconcilable issues with the present government of Hope Uzodimma.

However, the last time Madumere was heard was when he was in court challenging the state government to be pay his unpaid statutory remuneration and fringe benefits.

We at NewsTrack Nigeria celebrates with Prince Eze Madumere, wishing him the best in the future endeavors.
