Gunmen Abduct Acting Rector Benue Polytechnic ,Demanding N70m
The Acting Rector Benue Polytechnic, Ugbokolo Dr Emmanuel Barki has been kidnapped on his way to Ugbokolo after an official assignment in Makurdi.
He was abducted with some management staff of the polytechnic and their driver.
It was gathered the abductors moved them away from the highway and reportedly abandoned the official vehicle of the polytechnic.
The Nation gathered after 24 hours of waiting, the abductors called the family of the Acting Rector and demanded N70m ransom.
The early callers to the family of the Acting Rector include the immediate past Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Dr. Augustine Akpen Leva.
Leva called on the Benue State Government to improve the security situation across the State so travellers can feel safe.
