Davido Speaks On Afrobeat Potentiality
Music superstar Davido has highlighted the significant growth of the afrobeats genre, stating that artists are commanding the same ticket sales as top pop and hip-hop acts like Drake.
Speaking at a panel discussion organised by the US Advisory Council on Africa Diaspora Engagement and Nigerian creative industry leaders, Davido emphasised the genre’s financial potential, noting that a single afrobeats track can generate wealth that can last for generations.
“Afrobeats Artists are selling the same tickets as Drake. Now one song as an afrobeat artist can change your generation,” he said.
