My ‘Relationship’ With Simi – Falz
Rapper Falz has set the record straight on his relationship with singer Simi, stating that their connection was purely musical.
Despite sparking dating rumours with their joint EP “Chemistry” in 2016, Falz revealed that they never took their relationship beyond music.
In an interview with Hip TV, Falz shared how he first reached out to Simi after hearing her breakout song “Jamb Question” and how their musical chemistry led to future collaborations.
He fondly referred to Simi as “family,” highlighting the natural flow of their musical partnership.
Falz said: “I met Simi in 2013 or 2014. I reached out to her the first time I heard ‘Jamb Question’ to let her know I’ve written a verse for the remix that we’ve not yet discussed,” he recalled.
“And we went on to do it, shot the video and from then onwards, every other track was so natural. She’s family, we really really clicked musically and we just had to really explore that. It was beautiful.”
Falz’s recent feature on Simi’s song “Borrow Me Your Baby” from her album “Lost And Found” showcases their continued musical synergy.
Simi has since married singer Adekunle Gold in 2019 and welcomed their first child, Adejare, in 2020, putting any romantic speculation with Falz to rest.
