IMO LGA ELECTION: Ex – Commissioner Declares Interest For Ihitte/Uboma Chairmanship Election

In his passionate urge to serve his people better, the good people of Ihitte/Uboma state constituency, the immediate past Commissioner for Special Duties to the Governor, Hon. Chief. Dr. Sir Okey Anukwuem, has declared his interest to vie for the office of the Chairman of Ihitte/Uboma before the APC LG Party Executives.

The workaholic ex Commissioner whose crave for work is beyond par, admits a lacuna in the system that can be filled by his know-how and ability to get results, in line with the developmental agenda of the Governor for the people. He believes he carries the multifaceted experience in Governance and a clear understanding of today’s political landscape to take Ihitte/Uboma to higher grounds.

Dr. Okey, who has overtime, in his capacity, shown tremendous support to people who come in contact with him, as well as to the APC Party at LGA level. The flamboyant politician donated for free the building housing the present APC Party h/quarters. And it’s been so for three years and still running.

A social and political crusader, Chief Okey Anukwuem, fights for the interest of the just. Little wonder, as a Commissioner, he ensured the recovery and revival of the present Benjamin Uwajumogu College of Education Ihitte/Uboma which was on the verge of collapse and possible relocation. Exhibiting a true character of the Governor’s 3R policy.

The tendency to grind results out of difficult situations and stringent assignments has always been a rallying point for him, even in the discharge of his duties for Governor Hope Uzodinma.

Further reeling out his manifesto. OKEY assured the Party Executives of a well mapped security arrangement, and policies to tackle gender based violence. Ensuring also of empowerments and talent hunt and use.

His plan for swift and prompt emergency response, by the provisions of vehicles for this reason was well applauded. Further speaking on quality education and issuance of scholarships including prizes for debates in schools and the resuscitation of monthly sanitation exercise with the initiation of a 24hr direct telephone line directed to the office of the Chairman for emergency situations.
