UFC 254: Khabib Nurmagomedov Retires! Gets submission over Justin Gaethje
The most dreaded and undefeatable UFC light weight fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov once again proved his mettle in the UFC hurt sports having submitted Justin Gaethje in a triangle choke.
Pundits were of the view that the American could be Khabib’s toughest challenge, but it proved otherwise as the cage took a bow to The Eagle.
It was the first fight he would engage since the loss of his father. Khabib did not not fail to do his late dad proud.
According to Khabib: “I talked with my mother three days, I promised her this was gonna be my last fight in UFC. Today is my last fight. There’s no way I am gonna come here without my father., my father was always there for me”
Khabib now has a remarkable record of 29-0, but that’s where it will end after he announced his retirement during his post-fight interview.
As for Gaethje, who earned this fight after he successfully defeated Tony Ferguson earlier this year, his record now stands at 22-3.
