ONE YEAR IN OFFICE: Madumere Rues Devastated Infrastructures Gov Uzodimma Inherited, Advises Him On Salaries, Pensions, Others
The former Deputy Governor of Imo State and a founding fathers of All Progressives Congress, Prince Eze Madumere has commended Governor Hope Uzodimma as he marks one year in Office.
Madumere’s goodwill message was expressed in a statement by his Adviser on Media and Publicity, Uche Onwuchekwa.
According to the statement, Prince Madumere commended Uzodimma for his efforts so far in dealing with the infrastructural challenges in the state.
“Imo former Deputy Governor Congratulates the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma as he marks one year in office.
“It is note worthy to mention that he inherited a State in deficit in every sector ranging from the maintenance of the work force, infrastructure and ecological challenges.
“I had once said that it will take over 25 years to recover the state from devastation of misrule and thievery.
“Imo was left a landmine to any new comer. It is on record that most roads touted to have been done all turned into death traps for obvious reasons of intentional substandard works yet at a very high cost of tax payers money.
“I commend Governor Uzodimma because he has started addressing those issues.”
However, Madumere warned against complacency, saying that there are still so much work to be done.
He encourages Uzodimma to continue the good job and ensure that every work done is solid with guarantee.
He also called on the Governor to continue in his effort to bring the issue of work force and Pension verification to conclusion to ensure that those who are genuine get paid and ghost ones are kicked out and possibly made to face justice.
The former Deputy Governor further commended the Governor for the ongoing Road rehabilitations in communities of 27 local government areas of the state, describing it as “strategic in socio-economic growth of the rural areas of the State.”
The statement further captures Madumere commending Uzodimma for his effort in ensuring there is stability in APC, stating it’s a good omen for the future of the party.
