Panic As Senior Police Officer Kills Self In Imo
A senior police identified as inspector Umoh at Owerri Area command police headquarters, has committed suicide by shooting self to death.
NewsTrack Nigeria (NTN) investigation revealed that the incident occurred on Tuesday in the evening hours at the state capital, Owerri.
NewsTrack Nigeria also learnt that inspector was on visiting assignment at the area command.
According to our source: “ the mobile officer reportedly locked himself in one of the rooms and a gun shots rented the command, which led to the search. On forcing the door open, behold Umoh was in the pool of his own blood.
“There is so much pressure in the police force. Crimes are increasing at geometric progression with hardened criminals becoming daring and well equipped. While investigation into the matter has been ordered as I heard by the Commissioner of Police, I believe the incident may not be far from depression.”
According to The Nation report, “spokesperson for the police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the incident”.
It reported that the Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Muhammed, had ordered an investigation into the incident.
