How Madumere Prevented Me From Firing My Cameraman – 4thestatereporters Publisher

On Wednesday morning , March 23, 2021, while I was almost running out of patience with my long awaited video editor who later didn’t show up at my hotel room so that we could edit some jobs; I never knew the young man had emergency call for a job in Abuja after the Tuesday valedictory session at the Imo State University in honour of late Rev. Fr. Prof. Edmund Igboanusi.

Obviously angry, I was considering next line of action; including cutting down his payment since I am a serious minded person when it comes to handling people’s jobs . A number of calls were put across to him and he never picked up a single one.

However, I applied a sixth -sense as I directed my photographer to call his line. This time , he picked up but in a low voice pleaded with him not to tell me that he was on his way to the airport for an emergency job in Abuja .

While on the verge of taking a punishment measure against him , one cheering phone call came in for the first time. It was coming from the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Prince Eze Madumere, MFR.

Hello , Njoku !

I responded , Your Excellency , Sir!

Meanwhile, I had saved his number for almost 2 years without calling or sending him a private mail . It is one principle I have held so tenaciously over the years ; “ Do not bug big men|politicians with calls even when you are in a tight corner .“ “ Good a thing, all through his days as deputy governor , I never had any cogent reasons to call him despite making cases for him online when one young man from Nkwerre took on him through a most malicious and mischievous campaign of calumny . Well, that is in the past now !

MacDonald , Prince Eze Madumere continued:

“ I have been following up on your educative , detailed and well organised publications online. It will be quite unfair for me not to have acknowledged and commended your efforts , resilience , consistency and touch of excellence as an online publisher; and one of the best hands in Imo State .“

“ While movies don’t move me , this particular words of encouragement melted my heart; not just because it came from a respected Imo leader and former Deputy Governor of my beloved State, but rather , as it came from a distant observer who probably had been taking notes of my onerous efforts and dispassionate commitment to redefining news reportage in the new media after almost 10 years of pushing so hard in a field that has today become a global phenomenon .“

Immediately, I let go and pardoned my video editor with a mild note of wishing him journey mercies to Abuja ; as I reminded him to be conscious that we had jobs to handle on Thursday and Friday of same week.

In a busy and turbulent world where people are going through hard times due to uncertainties ; insecurity, ethno -religious crisis , economic upheavals, welfare challenges as many families cannot guarantee three square meal a day, while the army of graduates roam the streets in search of elusive jobs. Your words of encouragement can lighten up the down trodden and one who is on the verge of loosing one’s sanity due to teething problems !

“ Send me your account details can heal many wounds faster at that point in time even if you didn’t send millions into that account 😃.“

That young man who calls everytime for assistance deserves some attention . You may not give him heaven and earth or even millions as you also have your own challenges , but your words of encouragement of a better tomorrow may inspire him and brighten the rest of his day or week !

Meanwhile, before dropping his call , His Excellency , to my greatest chargrin, released some words of prayers on 4thestatereporters.com as a corporate and responsive online newspaper .

Ironically, he spoke in Owerri native dialect which sold him out as a well groomed and grounded illustrious son of Owerri zone as he promised to have a media parley with Njoku Macdonald Obinna; in no distant time.

My video📟 editor should prepare for thanksgiving this Sunday💒 as His Excellency, Prince Eze Madumere had inadvertently saved him from being fired 😃😃!
