Topic: Don’t eat from Satan’s table

_The woman saw that the tree was beautiful. She saw that its fruit was good to eat and that it would make her wise. So she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some of the fruit to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Gen. 3:6, ICB_

We are always safe and free from troubles when we eat from God’s table.

When God finished creating the world, He gave to Adam and Eve all the fruits He wanted them to eat. God also told them of the fruit-tree they must not eat, else they will die. But Satan came and told Eve that God was telling her lies; that Eve should not listen or believe God, because God does not want Eve to be wise.

Satan is a big liar! But he convinced Eve to eat of the fruit God had told them they must not eat, and then she gave Adam to eat too.

This disobedience by Adam and Eve puts them into trouble with God: 1. they became naked; 2. they felt guilty; 3.they were afraid, and, 4. God drove them out of their garden home. Eating from Satan’s table would always put us into trouble with God and our parents.

Some of the ways people eat from Satan’s table includes stealing, when you follow to eat a stolen food, biscuits, etc, stolen pen, pencil, books, forcing someone to give you bribe. Doing them would make us to be afraid of God; and as children of God we must run away from all of them.

When it is time for church and you use it to watch television, you are eating with the devil; and God would not be happy because He wasn’t happy with Adam and Eve. Remember, obedient brings blessings of God, and disobedience brings fear and unhappiness.

*Song*
Nearer, still nearer, close to thy heart, Draw me my Saviour so precious Thou art;
Fold me O fold me close to Thy breast, Shelter me safe in that haven of rest, Shelter me safe in that haven of rest.

*Prayer* :
Father in heaven, I thank You because Your strength can help me overcome the devil. I don’t want to eat from his table; I want to eat from the table of your word alone. Give me Your peace in my heart and your blessings always in Jesus’ name. Amen.
