Gunmen kidnap 2 clergymen in Benin

Some unknown gunmen have on Sunday kidnapped two worshippers of a popular church in Benin City, Edo state. The incident happened at Airport road near Ogba Zoological Garden in Benin City.

According to the report, the heavily armed gunmen who came out in their numbers barricaded the road where the victims who were on their way to church were instantly kidnapped. The kidnappers took the victims through Ogba River to an unknown destination.

No call for ransom has been made to their families yet as at the time of making this report. But the matter has been brought to the notice of the police in Edo state who have since gone underground to rescue the victims unhurt. Some worshippers who escaped from the scene said, they quickly took to their heels when they first sighted the gunmen from distance. They said the early recognition of the men said to be on the negative side of the society saved them from the kidnapping incident. Police investigation continues.
