The 52-year-old manager was approached by Tottenham in the offseason and recently by Newcastle. However, he believed he would not have had much power on the transfer market with the Spurs. And that the Magpies, despite the Arab money, are too distant from the upper echelon to be successful in a short period of time. It would be a risky move for his reputation.

Instead, Manchester United would be a better fit. Conte could turn things around quickly with his tactical expertise and motivational skills. Solskjaer recently received the backing of Alex Ferguson. He is under contract until 2024 with €9M wages.
