Bishop Otti Tasks Fed. Govt. On Security Challenges In The Country, Visits Former Deputy Gov’s

The Bishop of the Diocese on the Lake, Oguta Local government area of Imo State, Rt. Rev. C.B.N. Otti, has described the dicey security situation in the South East and the country as whole as embarrassing, calling on the Federal Government to further take a proactive approach.

Bishop Otti made the call when he paid a solidarity visit to the Traditional Ruler and father of the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere at his Achi Palace, Ezi-Mbieri Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.

Bishop Otti extended his goodwill message to the Nonagenarian, saying that it was only God who spared his life from the hands of his abductors.

He regretted that many families are in mourning over loss of loved ones who were cut down untimely through kidnapping and other criminal activities, calling on the people for repentance.

His words: ” I have come to rejoice with HRH, Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere and family for God’s divine intervention in his life, especially during the period of his kidnap.

“His son, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere is one of Knights. HRH, Eze Madumere, the Traditional Ruler of Ezi-Mbieri is also our Knight. I have come to identify with the family and pray with them.

“As we thank God for His mercies and keep praying for His intervention, we also call on the Federal Government and their agencies saddled with the responsibility of securing life and property to rise to the occasion. It is embarrassing to hear that a 90 year old man was kidnapped by those that can be his grand children”.

Responding, Pa Madumere expressed gratitude to Bishop Otti, especially for his prayers.

He said he felt so embarrassed that the boys could be so disrespectful. ” I was kept in the bush and made to lay on bare ground despite his condition.

Earlier, the Bishop has Worship at the Chapel of Praise in the Country Home of the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere.

Bishop Otti admonished congregants to be of good cheer whatever may be the tide, assuring them of God’s intervention.

In the Sermon with theme: God is Great”, he narrated the experience of Israelis who had had to suffer humiliation under the Philistines, which was recorded in Chronicles.

He said despite everything that David went through, he was later crowned the King of Israel, admonishing Christians to believe in the promises of God, describing Him as a Great God who never fails.

Meanwhile, Venerable Sunday Iheruo, the Chaplain of Chapel of Praise thanked Bishop Otti for honourable the church with his presence and for his words of admonition.

The former Deputy Governor, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere thanked Bishop Otti for his love towards the family, even as he said he is the spiritual father of the family.

Madumere who was represented by his Media Adviser, Uche Onwuchekwa prayed to God to stand for the Bishop whenever He calls on Him and never to put him to shame when it matters most in the course of his ministry.

He described Bishop Otti as selfless and an epitome of humility who has carried on with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, moulding the youths and leading on the path of honour.

He however the clergy to work more in instilling God’s standard of morality to the youths so that they realise crime and other immoral activities are not condoned by God and that they lead to destruction.

He thanked him for coming to worship with them in Lake Malinda.
