2023: After Submitting Form, Timipre Sylva Chickens Out From Presidential Race
Chief Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Petroleum, has withdrawn from the presidential race in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has returned to work.
This comes days after the minister submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms to the APC.
Recall that the Northern Solidarity Group had on May 9, presented the APC’s Expression of Interest and Nomination form to the minister to enable him to contest the party’s 2023 presidential primaries.
THE WITNESS had reported that Mr Sylva, a former governor of Bayelsa State, was said to have been forced to submit his resignation letter to Boss Mustapha, the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF) late Friday, two days after President Buhari told all his appointees seeking elective posts in the 2023 general elections to resign their current appointments.
