Imo: Great Ife Alumni holds end of year get together Dec. 8

The Great Ife Alumni Association (Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife), Imo State chapter will on December 8, 2019 hold her end of the year get together.

The Chairman of the Alumni Association, Hon Chief Charles Okeke popularly known as Odiuko hinted this while addressing members in their last meeting at Owerri Club, Owerri, Imo State.

Speaking with newsmen, Chief Okeke who is a licensed telecommunication representative in the state said that Great Ife Alumni Association has been a vibrant association that believes in excellence and ploughing back to the society.

“You may be aware that this Alumni Association is like no other. We cheer excellence and are 24 hour ever prepared to encourage one another to achieve Excellence.

“Most importantly, we are interested in ploughing back to our Alma mater. For us, we are all what we are because of the great citadel of learning, Great Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University, we *pass* through. We were well prepared and that is why we are found in every sector of the economy, whether in private or public sector.

“Beyond these objectives, we fellowship together when we gather. We relive those good old days and encourage our younger eagles to always distinguish themselves wherever they find themselves.

“Surely we cry when our member cries, we celebrate when they celebrate and we fight together whenever the need arises. At the National, we are never found wanting. Yes, we have done well though we are not infallible as humans but we have every cause to celebrate.”

Meanwhile, the Chairman hailed members of the Association for always working together to surmount all challenges before it.

He commended the immediate past Chairman of the Association, Chief Barr. NBE Nwigwe for his avowed stance to continue to play a vital role to uphold the body despite his long *years* of sacrifice.

He commended his Exco members and every member, especially the Senior Advocates, Professors, Medical Doctors, Politicians of note who despite their tight schedules have always considered the Association’s programmes in their first line priorities.

He promised that as usual this year’s get together promises to break all records as it will come with pomp and merriments.
