Guinness World Record: Hilda Baci Raises The Bar, Completes 100 Hours Cooking Record

Jubilation as Nigerian Chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong, popularly known as Hilda Baci, set a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours, shattering the previous record.

With this feat, Hilda has surpassed the previous record set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef, in 2019.

Lata Tondon held the record when she cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds to break the previous title.

However, Hilda set a new world record at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023.

She cooked for 100 hours to set the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours by an individual.

Baci started her cooking marathon challenge on Friday at the Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State.

The chef has been getting massive support, especially from Nigerians, celebrities and politicians in the country.

Hilda Baci had some cheering support from notable Nigerians. Nollywood ace stars, Charles Okocha; Kate Henshaw; singer, Tiwa Savage; media personality, Enioluwa, and many others put in appearance at the event.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also also reportedly visited the venue on Sunday to cheer up Baci.

Baci is not new to cooking competitions, she was a participant in the maiden edition of the Jollof Face-off Competition in 2021. The talented chef made Nigeria proud by winning the competition and walking away with a grand prize of $5000.

Indeed it was a game of heart and grit.
