Sacked CBN Governor, Emefiele In SSS Custody (VIDEO)
Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was reportedly arrested by the Operatives of the State Security Services shortly after his removal by President Bola Tinubu.
According to reliable source, the suspended CBN Governor was arrested by the secret police, attributing it to accusations of financial recklessness. Video embedded herein.
Recall that the ousted CBN boss had been on the radar of the secret Police even before the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.
Recall that it was he had some irreconcilable altercation with the secret police, which would have seen him arrested were it not for the intervention of former President Buhari.
Emefiele’s money swap programme, which failed woefully, throwing Nigerians into untold hardship was considered as a witch-hunt by President Tinubu.
According to reports available to NewsTrack Nigeria (newstrack.com.ng), the SSS had L gone to court to secure an order to effect Emefiele’s arrest formally for alleged terrorism financing.
According to Saturday Tribune, when it’s correspondent contacted, the Spokesperson of the Service Dr Peter Afunnaya, he declined comment.
Meanwhile, Emefiele was seen been chauffeured in a Toyota Hilux truck where he was guided into a jet.
