BREAKING: Rage as ENTRACO men wreak havoc in Imo, escape from angry youths

The lawless men of Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission, penultimate week, were saved by the whiskers for knocking for causing multiple motor accidents.

The unfortunate incident occurred along Christ Church Road in Owerri during a hot chase at a suspected traffic defaulter, causing multiple car accidents with serious damages on highly priced vehicles.

The angry residents were reported to have attacked the men of ENTRACO over what they described as unmitigated violence against the residents of Owerri Municipal, slamming high levies on those alleged to have violated traffic rules on phony charges.

According to a witness account who introduced himself as Emeagha, “We were here this morning, all of a sudden, we saw vehicles racing through Christ Church, which is a busy district. We discovered that the one in the front was a private car being chased by ENTRACO boys. Before we knew it, two passers-by were nearly knocked down were it not for luck. The unfortunate event climaxed when two vehicles lost control and rammed into each other, causing serious damage that will cost nearly N1million to repair.

“The youths in the area in anger regrouped and went after the ENTRACO men with all manner of weapons. The driver of the towing van was attacked and would have been lynched had he not sped off followed by his accomplices.”
The affected vehicles are Ford SUV with registration number Lagos: EKY 599 DZ and a Toyota sedan car with registration number IMO: NWA 142 AA.

One of the residents who simply introduced himself as Ambrose encouraged the owner of Ford SUV to seek redress through legitimate means and ensure that those whose carelessness caused the damage are brought to book.

Meanwhile, despite the excruciating pains being suffered by Imo people as a result of economic hardship occasioned by the stringent measures to contain Covid – 19, Imo ENTRACO has established a reign of terror in the state with heartless extortion.

The level of extortion is unprecedented as the least they collect from unsuspecting motorists is N5000.
A little investigation along Weatheral Road, any innocent motorist who makes a brief stop to answer phone calls with their vehicle still steaming is at the risk of losing an un-receipted levies or bribe.
Effort to reach the General Manager of ENTRACO proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
