KILLERS ON THE PROWL IN IMO

UNKNOWN GUNMEN ASSASSINATE APC CHAIRMAN

As if Okorocha’s estranged deputy, Prince Eze Madumere had had a premonition of what was coming, by raising alarm over likely spate of violence over desperation of some politicians to perpetuate themselves into power, from the development in the state, it appears messengers of death are on the prowl.

Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 9 pm, Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Ifeanyi Ozoemena was reportedly assassinated by unknown gunmen in his home in Logara/Umuohiagu Ward in Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo State.

According to eye witness report, Ozoemena before his gruesome murder had presided over a meeting at his ward.

When Newstract visited Logara, people were seen in groups discussing the matter. Efforts to get some of the locales speak on the matter met a brick wall, except one middle aged lady who simply gave her name as Lilian who said: “Oga, are you telling me that you are  Dee Ifeanyi of APC was shot last night. That is we are here”. All effort to speak to any of the family members proved abortive”.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ikoku Orlando, confirmed the incident. He said the police has expedited action to unravel the puzzle surrounding the unfortunate incident and bring the assailants to justice.

The incident has brought a sudden mourning among the APC family, especially at a time the rescheduled election of February 23, 2019 is at hand.

Speaking to Newstrack, a youth leader who identifies himself as Barr, at APC secretariat, Okigwe road, Owerri, he described the incident as sad. He called on the security agencies to up their intelligence to ensure the incident never rears its ugly head again.
