GOVERNOR OKOROCHA CUTS ALTERNATIVE SOURCE OF POWER TO DEPUTY

GOVERNOR OKOROCHA CUTS ALTERNATIVE SOURCE OF POWER TO DEPUTY
OKOROCHA MOVES DEPUTY GOVERNOR’S OFFICE GENERATOR TO AN UNDISCLOSED PLACE
– AS MADUMERE ACCUSES HIM OF SABOTAGE
The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere and accused Governor Rochas Okorocha of wicked ploy to stagnate and sabotage his office, with a view to rendering him ineffective and inefficient in his constitutional duties.
Deputy Governor’s assertion is contained in a press release issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Uche Onwuchekwa.
The Office of the Deputy Governor complained of impunitous removal of the Power Generating at the Office, which serves as  an alternative source of electricity, thereby throwing the staff into confusion as to how to go about their official duties whenever there is power outage.
According to the release, the Office of the number two citizen of the state is concerned with what it described as administrative recklessness of Governor Okorocha, accusing him of administering Imo government house as a personal estate, thereby bringing image of the state to disrepute.
The release also revealed that the Office of the  Deputy Governor was never informed of the reason for removing the power generating set, raising suspicion as to the reason the action was taken.  The release describes Okorocha’s action as wicked, which was intentionally hatched with a motif of rendering the Office of the Deputy Governor ineffective and to administratively stagnate it to the extent of making it incapable of attending to its constitutional roles.
It reads further: “Government as institution should not be viewed from the spectacle of the occupier or the driver. It is very appalling to note that for whatever reason that a Governor could literarily shut down the office of the number two citizen of the state.
It is also nauseating to note that the Office of the Deputy Governor has not been cleaned since October 2018, making the place filthy and unconducive to carry out the government business.
The Office is covered with cobweb, the ceilings are falling off while the roofs are leaking profusely and directly on the table of the Deputy Governor whenever it rains. Two offices belonging to the Deputy Governor’s security aides and secretary are in a sorry state and have been abandoned.

We have written to the maintenance department severally with pictorial evidences but all these efforts have fallen on deaf ears. The information we get is usually that their hands are tied due to a no-directive from the governor.”

The Office of the Deputy Governor thereby insists that Madumere would rather work anywhere conducive if the trend continues,  unabated, accusing Okorocha of childish misdemeanor, which attributing it to administrative lacklustre of the Governor.
Meanwhile, Madumere has reminded Okorocha of coming day of reckoning when he must account for his stewardship for the people of the state after eight years of misrule.
