We are working hard to improve livelihood of Nigerians – President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that the federal government will not give room that will inflict more hardship on citizens but that his government is working hard to improve their livelihoods.

The president disclosed this on Thursday, September 12, in Abuja when the new executive of Trade Union Congress led by its president, Quadri Olaleye, visited him at the State House.

He added that his government would instead keep seeking ways to ameliorate the sufferings of the people.

On fuel prices, I agree with you on the need to eliminate corruption and inefficiencies in the sector. I want to assure you that, as an administration, we have no intention of inflicting any additional hardship on Nigerians,’’ he said.

Going further, the president said the federal government remains committed to the implementation of the national minimum wage.

Buhari aso said that his government will work hard to improve the livelihood of citizens.

However, the president added that most of the inherited challenges were avoidable if some previous governments had been keener on investing in infrastructure and human capacity.
