Madumere Celebrates With Christians, Urges Nigerians to Remember Less Privileged

Imo former Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere rejoices with fellow Christians as the world marks the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, while urging Nigerians to remember the poor and the less privileged.

Madumere spoke on Friday shortly after Christmas church service at the Chapel of Praise, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) at his country home, Lake Malinda, Achi, Ezi-Mbieri autonomous community, Mbaitoli local government area, Imo State.

He said that Christians look for the celebration because of the significance of the birth of Jesus Christ who is the foundation of Christianity.

He describes The Lord Jesus Christ as God who came in the form of man to teach how to lead a selfless godly life and to reconcile men to God the Father.

“As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ all over the world, I wish to admonish Christians to follow his footsteps.

“We must learn sacrifices from his life and that of God the Father who sent His only begotten Son to come to live with men, teach them and pay the ultimate sacrifice to save man from eternal condemnation.

“I wish to also appeal to all and sundry to remember the poor and less privileged among us. I know that the year has been a challenging one following the outbreak of the dreaded Covid – 19. It has been a devastating experience in all facets of the world economy, including Nigeria.

“This has caused untold hardship to various families but we can still share just a little with those whose state is worse.

“As we celebrate, let us also be wary of the dreaded virus, Covid – 19. We have heard of the second wave and its variants. Let’s maintain the prescribed protocols of hand-washing, social distancing, wear your face mask. When one feels strangely feels sick, the person should reach the dedicated emergency lines for advice.”
