Madumere Salutes Nigerians on New Year, Calls For New Strategy To Economy, Insecurity

The former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has called on Nigerians to embrace a new approach in their socio-economic activities, saying they can still meet their goals with a positive attitude.

The former Deputy Governor made the statement on the dawn of a New Year, January 1, 2021 as communicated through Media Adviser, Uche Onwuchekwa.

While wishing the people of Imo State Happy New Year, he prayed that all that people have planned to achieve are still possible as long as they keep to the new ways of doing things, ensuring they protect themselves  against the dreaded Covid-19.

He also called on people to look inward and make the best of the resources within the country, which on a collective scale will give the country a leap in economic growth and development.

He urges Nigerians to remain diligent while observing the necessary procedures to ensure they are protected against diseases.

Madumere expressed hope of a better 2021 and also implore Nigerians to believe in themselves and put more energy and innovation in their vocations.

He however decried the level of insecurity across the country, praying for God’s intervention as well as better strategy from those concerned to nip the menace in the bud.

The message reads: “It is a new dawn, a brand new year and I wish the good people of Imo State and Nigerians at large a Happy Prosperous New year.

“All over the World, people experienced retrogression untold hardship with the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, which literally collapsed economic activities. Nigeria is not left out.

“Nigeria’s case became worse because we are bedeviled by security challenges, which has had adverse effects on businesses, farms and even social activities, dislocating many from their homes.

“I believe that our President, Mohammadu Buhari is ever ready to go the extra mile to ensure that things are turned around for the better. Our security chiefs also need to step up their game and bring the compromised security situation under control.

“Meanwhile, I believe that God has endowed every human being with great talent and knowledge laced with innovation and creative minds. Today, we have more innovative ways of doing business with technology. Major transactions these days no longer take place at market squares but from the comfort of your homes.

“I wish to appeal to Nigerians to begin to adopt the new ways of doing things, with a view to protecting themselves against Covid-19. I say this because if we all take ill due to carelessness, then we have a lot more to worry about. When the workforce is sick, then the country is at greater risk.”
