Imo Diaspora Leadership Forum Commends Buhari Over Obiezu’s Appointment


Group under the umbrella of Imo state Diaspora Leadership has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Obiezue Ijeoma Chinyerem Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ireland, where she also oversees Nigeria’s Relation with Iceland.

The group’s goodwill was contained in a statement signed by the President-General of the apex Imo Diaspora leadership worldwide, Engr. Sampson Ude.

The group described Buhari’s extension of goodwill to Imo State as a welcome development and well appreciated by Imo people in diaspora.

Engr. Sampson Udeh wished Ambassador Obioezue well during a chat with her and plagued the support of Imo Leadership in Diaspora.

Obiezu Ijeoma Chinyerem was among one of the successful candidates even as has already been posted to Ireland. She took over from Dr. Emenike at the embassy in Dublin.

The Imo Diaspora Leadership Forum further charges Obiezue to represent Nigeria very well even as Imo people wish her a successful representation while her posting lasts.


The statement reads: “We the members of the Imo State Diaspora Leadership Forum commend President Muhammadu Buhari for finding our daughter, Lady Ijeoma Obiezue worthy to be appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ireland, where she will oversee Nigeria’s relation with Iceland.

“We thank him and view such extension of goodwill as a welcome development. The people of Imo State are happy with it and we repose confidence in her, believing she will represent the country very well and in such a manner that it will yield dividends.

“We charge her to be of good cheer and explore the opportunities therein to attract such exchange that will engender developments in various areas of relations.

“We wish her a successful engaging representation, assuring her of the support of the Imo Diaspora community.
