Imo Police Gets New PPRO

Imo State Police Command has received a new Public Relations Officer, SP Bala Elkana who has taken over from SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando.

Ikokwu has proceeded on a transfer to Ondo State as it is the tradition in Nigeria Police and other relevant security agencies.

Meanwhile, the out-gone Imo PPRO has called on Imo based newsmen to extend their cooperation and support to the new PPRO, SP Elkana.

The statement issued by SP Orlando Ikokwu reads:

“Imo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that a new Police Public Relations Officer has been posted to the Command. He is SP Bala Elkana. He takes over from SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando who has been redeployed to Ondo State Police Command.

“SP Bala Elkana was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 2003. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB), master degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution (MSC), Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) among other academic qualifications.

“He attended several courses among which are Leadership Training, Detective Course, Community Policing, Trainee Course, Combat Operation Course, Emergency Management Course, Police Relations Course. He is a member of the National Institute of Public Relations and also a member of International Association of Chiefs of Police, A Fellow and ICON of Corporate Institute of Adminsitartion.

“He has served the force in different capacities notably: – Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Niger, Akwa Ibom and Lagos State Police Commands, respectively. He has also received so many awards among which are: – Best PRO in Nigeria 2020, Best PRO in Africa and Best PRO in Central and West Africa by Security Watch Africa.

“I therefore want to thank you all  for  this rear opportunity of working with you, working with  you all have not only been a good experience but also a very rewarding one too, no doubt,  I  have grown to be a better  person through my period in this office. My consolation is that I am leaving  you all in safe hands because I  know that the new PPRO is such a wonderful person and will do much better.
I hereby urge you to extend all cooperation and support to the new Public Relations Officer (PPRO)”.
