Ex Deputy Governor Salutes Governor Uzodimma Over Empowerment of Imo Youths



The former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madunere has expressed gladness over Governor Hope Uzodimma’s well thought mega youth empowerment exercise, which would go long towards emelorating the suffering masses.

The former deputy Governor’s goodwill message was expressed in a statement by his Adviser, Media & Publicity, Uche Onwuchekwa.

Prince Madumere described Uzodimma’s decision as a step in the right direction, saying that the effort will aid most artisans and those with marketable skills for smooth-start up.

He added that Uzodimma has taken a proactive measure to solve Imo security challenges by strategically empowering over 15, 000 youths who are expected to plough the funds into their different areas of business interest.

Small and medium scale enterprises remain the nuclues of every economy because it preocuppies the largest number of the population rendering services that are consumed by the greatest number of the populace and at some point if well organised, produce spill over for exports.

the statement reads:

“The former Deputy Governor of Imo state, prince Eze Madumere joins other good spirited imolites to congratulate the Governor of Imo state, distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma on the landmark achievement of empowering 15,000 imo youths with N250,000 each.

“The former Deputy Governor is not unaware of the Uzodimma led 3R government had already taken these youths through entrpreneural trainings. It is beleived that they are well equipped to manage any business of choice.

“Following the economic downturn occasioned by covid-19 pandemic, it has taken as blistering toll on the living standard of the people, thereby widening the poverty index. This effort will reduce poverty and empower appreciable number of families.

“All over the world, Small and Medium Scale enterprises are the core of the economy. It is the stability of every well organised system. With this empowerment, I expect a progressive economic system.

“It is also worthy of note to state that the empowerment programme will also help decongest the streets since most idle youths now have some funds to start up their dream businesses, thereby tacitly managing security challenges being experienced vistually across the country.”

Prince madumere further enjoined the people to lend their support to Governor uzodimma, saying that he means well for the state with what he has done so far in the area of infrastructure, empowerment and other areas of governance.
