2023: PDP Senatorial Aspirant Cross Carpets To APC

The leadership of Imo APC led by the State Party Chairman , Prince Marcon Nlemigbo, on Wednesday, officially received former Imo PDP stalwart and Senatorial Aspirant for Owerri Zone, Hon Ugochukwu Harry Nwachukwu popularly known as (UgoSly) at the State Party Secretariat,Owerri, Imo State.

The reception took place on Tuesday,6th July, 2021, amidst fanfare.

Addressing the party faithful, Ugo-sly, said he abandoned PDP for APC because of the leadership style of the Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, saying he has delivered dividends of democracy within his short stay in office.

According to him, “I joined the APC as a result of accolades and supports so far showered on the government of Imo State outside the state. I joined APC because Gov. Uzodinma has written his name in gold in Imo and in the South East APC. I am now in APC because Gov.Uzodinma has shown he came to fix all that was destroyed in Imo State for the past years by some past Imo Governors”, UgoSly submitted.

Nwachukwu assured Imo party faithful that his presence in the party would help to galvanise support for the party.


The Imo APC State Chairman, Barr. Marcon Nlemigbo, in his closing remarks, enjoined all party faithful in Mbaitoli and Owerri Zone to work as a team to achieve the desired results of delivering good governance to the grassroots.

Finally, he urged all the members and supporters of Imo APC to go and preach the political gospel of the Shared Prosperity Government at the grassroots.

Meanwhile, in a swift interview with the new entrant, UgoSly, he expressed delight to declare his political intents with APC, recalled that he was robbed of his 2019 Owerri Zone Senate by the leadership of Imo PDP.


UgoSly under the umbrella of PDP had aspired to represent Owerri Zone a the Senator and that same ambition is still on his mind. According to sources, he is in APC to still try his luck for Senate come 2023.

The event witnessed hundreds of party faithful and supporters of Ugosly who also left the PDP.


Among other leaders who were on hand to receive UgoSly were some Owerri zone leaders. One of such leaders is Prince Lemmy Akakem, of Orji Owerri North LGA, Imo State.

It is noteworthy to mention that Imo APC chances of doing well in the next election year has been bolstered.

However, it is also not out of place to mention that the atmosphere of poverty and gale of insecurity must be seen to have been reduced to the barest minimum for bankable chances of doing well in 2023.
