Three Killed In Niger Communal Clash

Three persons have been killed and over 30 injured in a communal clash between Boku and Doko communities in Lavun local government area of Niger State.

Several houses and vehicles were destroyed and many cows, goats and sheep stolen in Boku community, it was said.

It was reported that the clash was over land, a perennial dispute between them.

It was gathered that while efforts to settle the dispute was ongoing, some youths from Doko sprayed chemical on a disputed farm and were attacked by Boku youths.

Doko youths reportedly mobilised and went to Boku in revenge attack.

A resident of Boku community, Mohammed Alikali said two persons died instantly during the attack while the third person died at Federal Medical Centre Bida while receiving treatment.

Police spokesman Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the incident, saying investigation had begun.
