Gruesome Murder Of Three Siblings: Group Urges IG To Intervene

A group, Ukehe United Front, Abuja (UUFA), has urged the Inspector General of Police, Mr Usman Alkali, to urgently intervene in the alleged gruesome murder of three siblings in Suleja, Niger.

The UUFA’s Chairman, Barr. Ìfèsì Nwodo, made the call at a news conference on Thursday, in Abuja.

Nwodo said the three children of the same parent namely, Chidinma (3), Chidubem (7) and Chiedoeze Aroh (9), were murdered at their resident, Berger Paint Street, in Suleja on Saturday, Feb. 27.

He said that on that fateful day, the mother of the children, Mrs Chinedum Aroh, a widow, who lost her husband in March 2019, left the house for her business at Ibrahim Gbadamosi Babangida Market in Suleja.

“Surprisingly, when she came back from the market, she could not find her children, all efforts to know their whereabouts were to no avail.

“She immediately reported the incident at the Suleja B Division of the Nigeria Police. In the wee hours of March 1, the lifeless bodies of the children were found inside their ‘Geepee’ water tank situated at the back of their compound.

“We were told that a forensic analysis report on the bloodstain iron door of the perpetrator(s) will be revealed through Bank Biometric Verification Number (BVN), but sadly, up till this moment, nothing was said to have been done, he said.

He alleged that the Nigeria Police Command, Minna, without conducting a thorough investigation over the killing, took the matter to a Magistrate court in Suleja that had no jurisdiction over a homicide case.

“We, therefore, call on the Inspector General Police to please intervene on the matter and bring the culprits to book. This will bring justice for the innocent children and their families,” he said.

Nwodo also called on the Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District, Sen. Chuka Utazi, to bring this matter to the floor of the Red Chamber for necessary legislative intervention.

“The shady and reckless investigation conducted by the Nigeria Police Command, Minna, Niger is condemnable.

“We also condemned the activities of the two officers of the Force Criminal Investigative and Intelligent Department (FCIID) Area 10, Abuja who refused to do their constitutional duties after being mobilised accordingly.

“It is them today, who knows whom it will be tomorrow,” he stressed.
