Emir of Daura has said that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi deserves the honour bestowed on him as “Dan Amana Daura” (The Trusted Son of Daura) is based on merit.

he explained that Amaechi has shown diligence and patriotism while rendering services to their people and Nigerians at large. He particularly appreciated Mr. Amaechi for the The Kano – Daura – Katsina rail line projects, which will terminate in Niger Republic.

He insisted that Daura does not honour people based on money but on merit and services to the fatherland, which also affects their people, saying that the Minister has met every criteria required.

meanwhile, Katsina Governor Aminu Bello Masari, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, ex-Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai and a host of other dignitaries on Saturday in Daura were present during the turbaning of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amechi as “Dan Amana Daura”(the trusted son of Daura).

The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruq, while performing the ceremony at the Royal palace in Daura, urged Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for the President Muhammadu Buhari and the nation.

He stated that the President deserved the support and prayers of every Nigerian while piloting the affairs of the country towards her economic development as well as other challenges

The Monarch said: “My speech is not complete without showing gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I call on all Nigerians to continue their support and prayers for the President as he navigates our great country through numerous challenges.

‘’We pray for Allah’s guidance and protection for him as he pilots our country towards economic revitalisation, progress and development.”

While justifying the title bestowed on the Minister, the Emir insisted that it was based purely on merit and his services to the Daura Emirate and to Nigeria generally.

He said: “Daura Emirate does not confer titles on people because of money. The Emirate considers the services rendered to humanity by whoever he wants to honour.

“The Kano – Daura – Katsina rail line which will terminate at Maradi ( The Niger Republic) and the Federal University of Transportation, Daura would bring us benefits in the education of our youths, create employment for our teeming youths and socio-economic development of our community and that of Nigeria.

‘’It is because of all these that we are honoring him with the title.”
