*Topic: HOPE IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE.*

_Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voices and wept until the had no more power to weep. 1 Samuel 30: 4._

David sought protection/refuge among the philistine while running away from King Saul. But, one day he travelled to the north with his men in the hope of joining an army to fight against his own people, Israel. However, while David and his men were away, the Amalekites invaded Ziklag, burnt the city to the ground, and took away their wives and children as captives. On hearing this, David and his men lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no power to weep. It looked like all hope was lost, but David strengthened himself and inquired of the Lord.
Like David, we must first inquire of the Lord. We must seek the face of the Lord and be sure of His will concerning whatever thing we want to do and also must strengthened ourselves and go in the direction He (God) has chosen for us. Never run ahead of God or forget to enquire of His will in all you do.

*SONG* :
The Lord’s our Rock, in Him we hide,
A shelter in the time of storm,
Secure whatever may betide,
A shelter in the time of storm.

Refrain:

Mighty Rock in a weary land,
Cooling shade on the burning sand,
Faithful guide for the pilgrim band – –
A shelter in the time of storm.

*PRAYER*
Our Father in Heaven, all our trust is stayed in You, help us in trouble times not to run ahead of you but remain in your will. May we remain hopeful in the time of trouble in Jesus name Amen.
