Topic: UNITED IN CHRIST JESUS

I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.(1 Corinthians 1:10)

Unity means ‘Oneness’ or ‘in agreement’. A story was told about three brothers about to embark on a journey, they asked for advice from their grandmother. She smiled at them and quickly brought three bundles of broom, handed it to them and said, ‘break it’, they all tried but it was very difficult for any of them to break the bundle with the hands. She then instructed them to lose the bundle and break the broom singly, and it was easy. She said, “A bundle of broom is not easily broken because they are united, hold on to each other, Unity is Strength”. The Psalmist, David sings, “how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity.” (Psalms 133:1). Knowing the importance of unity, Jesus prayed for His disciples, “that they all maybe one…” (John17:21) and on the day of pentecost, “they were all in one accordant one place”(Acts 2:1), and the promised Holy Spirit came upon them and they did exploits for the Lord. Apostle Paul appeals in 1 Corinthians 1:10, “…that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. “Satan tries of sow seeds of division and disharmony among us because he knows that when we are united in mind and purpose for Christ, we can accomplish so much. Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”, Christ has gained the victory for all of us and in Christ there are no divisions of race, gender, tribe, class and so on; instead, in our diversities, we should be united in Christ Jesus.

Thoughts for Reflection
Jesus is the True vine, we are the branches, and He calls us to be united in Him and live in harmony with each other, so as to do great exploits for Him; answer the call, get connected and redemption is sure.
