Topic: Love In The Household Of Faith.

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ”. Col.2:2

As a church, right from the time of Jesus Christ, we can see the unity that existed between Jesus and His disciples and among the disciples in the early Church. After the death, resurrection and ascension of Christ, the disciples still continued in love, there was no symptom of hatred and disunity among them. They were United in love and for this very reason, I mean this very act of love and unity, the Bible says that God added members (people) to them daily. People saw the unity and love that they had, and they felt to be among them, no wonder it’s said that “united we stand, but divided we fall.”
I can tell you the story of Paul and Silas in prison, absolutely no man could help but God. Because the apostles were united in love, when they came together to pray, brothers and sisters, the Lord answered their prayers beyond their imaginations. What does this tells us? It tells us that there’s power in united prayer. They loved each other, hatred was not found among them and the Lord was with them.
Have you ever asked yourself why we continue to pray but nothing to show? Have you ever thought of what could be the problem that we’ll continue praying but to no avail? These are some of the questions we need to ask ourselves and answer them one after the other individually. Brethren, parents, youths and children, if our minds are not together, if we are not united in love, our prayers will be as an abomination before the Lord.

The Bible says that where two or three are gathered in my name ( God’s name), that He will be in their midst. Remember what the Bible say that God is; It’s plainly written in 1 John 4:16, it says that God is love, and whoever does not love does not know God, and God is not in such a person.
Dear children, I want to let you know that love in the household of faith is very very important. How do we claim to love God yet we keep malice in church? How are we worshipping with hatred and bitterness in our hearts? To be honest, God will not accept such worship because He cannot/does not dwell where there’s no love, trust and peace. God cannot associate Himself with hatred and disunity, therefore, what should we do so that the presence of God will be in our midst?
Brothers and sisters, this calls for reconciliation, we need to reconcile, change our ways and attitudes, keep hatred away from us and invite to Holy Spirit to come and dwell in our lives, church and families. When this is done, we will then rejoice in the Lord.

Thoughts for reflection.
Since the Lord does not have anything to do with a church, Family or person that doesn’t have love, therefore let us amend our ways.

Song .
There is beauty all around, When there’s love at home;
There is joy in every sound, When there’s love at home.
Peace and plenty here abide, Smiling fair on every side;
Time doth softly, sweetly glide, When there’s love at home.

CHORUS:
Love at home, love at home;
Time doth softly, sweetly glide,
When there’s love at home

Prayer .
Lord Jesus, we have heard today that you’re love, and whoever does not love, doesn’t know you, father in heaven, help us to love ourselves and take away hatred and all kinds of evil from us, fill us with your Holy Spirit and may your presence for ever abide with us, we pray in Jesus’name, Amen.
