Imo Guber 2023: Scramble For Mbaike Votes Heats Up Polity As Mbieri Youth Endorses Godstime, NNPP

As the countdown to November 11, 2023 Imo State Governorship election continues, it is becoming glaring that Mbaitoli Ikeduru will be a battle ground with the recent political development.

Recently, Governor Hope Uzodimma unveiled an Mbaitoli born Dr. Ekomaru as his running mate with hope that the move will give him massive votes from the largest local government in Nigeria.

With the development, the New Nigeria People’s party may dash Governor Hope Uzodimma’s dream with the avowed stance of Mbieri Youth to queue behind their own Son and fellow youth who has been in the struggle for the development of the local government, which has been abandoned by the successive government, including the present government.

Setting the ball rolling, the Umuahii Youth Association of Mbieri (Port Harcourt Branch) has endorsed their own brother, Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel of the New Nigeria People’s Party; NNPP as the next Deputy Governor of Imo state with his Boss, Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh as the next Governor of Imo State.

In a letter signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Association; Pastor Christian Ayozieuwa and Mr. Gideon Oparaugo respectively obtained by NewsTrack Nigeria, affirmed their absolute endorsement of Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel based on his efforts in the development of Umuahii-Mbieri and the youth in general.

Explaining why they insist on rallying their people vote for Godstime, the letter reads in parts, “It is on record that Godstime single handedly built a standard 2 bedroom apartment for a widow in Umuahii-Mbieri, graded most of the roads in Mbieri, single handedly sandfilled the Ebom Mbieri erosion gully with 611 trips of sand in 2018, facilitated the employment of some Mbieri youths in the Local Government Council, Police Force, Civil defence, skill empowerments and also paid for JAMB and WAEC fees for many of the students.”

Pastor Ayozieuwa therefore charged all Umuahii and entire Mbieri youths to get their PVCs ready to ensure that NNPP is given massive votes come 11th November 2023 to see that Godstime emerges as the Deputy Governor of the State for a New Imo state to be Birthed.

They warned those who seek to look at the face of those who have squandered their collective patrimony and only Interested in what comes to their pockets and their families.

In a different forms organised by Mbieri Youth, they have come together as an indivisible entity to ward of those who only visit their local government during election and pretender to be constructing roads. They vowed to resist any hoodlum that might be sent by these vocational politicians to their wards and booths.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic party candidate, Samuel Anyanwu is also from Mbaike, having come from Ikeduru with extended relations in Mbaitoli. It will be an audacious task for anyone to believe it will be a work over whatever may be the resources because blood ties are involved.
