Title: Taking Action with Jesus

For the kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power.” – 1 Thessalonians 1:5

Have you ever thought about how much information we have access to these days? We can learn about anything in just a few seconds! From yummy recipes to fun exercise tips, it’s all right at our fingertips. But did you know that just having information isn’t enough?

In our relationship with Jesus, it’s not just about knowing things in our heads. . It takes more than knowledge in our heads to change our hearts. It’s about something even more special – taking action! Transformation begins when we act on what we believe. The church in Thessalonica understood this. They didn’t just listen to Jesus’ message, but they were empowered by it! They used this power to fulfill their calling, love others, and have hope. They even found joy even when they faced hard times, and they shared their faith with others. They turned away from sin and served God with all their hearts. How amazing is that?

Guess what? We have access to that same power too! Jesus wants to do incredible things in our lives. He wants to help us break free from the things that hold us back, heal our hurts, forgive those who hurt us, and give our lives great purpose. But here’s the thing – we have to choose to take action and walk with Jesus every day.

Following Jesus is like going on a journey, step by step. It’s not something that happens all at once. Jesus has some wonderful plans for our lives, but He won’t force us to go along with them. The choice is ours!

Sometimes, we may feel overwhelmed by all the things we need to do or all the information we have. But remember, it’s not about doing everything at once or knowing everything in the world. It’s about making choices and following Jesus with our whole hearts.

So, let’s not treat our faith like unused recipes and exercise tips on our Pinterest boards. Instead, let’s take our next steps with Jesus and experience His power at work in us! Let’s pray, read the Bible, spend time with Him, and ask for His help in living a life full of love, hope, and purpose.

Thought for Reflection:
What next step is Jesus calling you to take? What are some ways you can choose to follow Jesus in your everyday life? It could be through being kind to others, reading His Word, praying, or forgiving someone who has hurt you. Each small choice we make to follow Him brings us closer to experiencing His power and love. Take a moment to reflect on your own life. Is there any area where you can make a choice to follow Jesus more closely? Look at how the Thessalonians were empowered. Which of these can you relate to? Let’s invite Him to guide us and empower us as we make these choices. Remember, it’s not about doing everything perfectly, but about taking one step at a time with Jesus by our side.

Song
I will follow Thee, my Savior,
Wheresoe’er my lot may be.
Where thou goest I will follow;
Yes, my Lord, I’ll follow Thee.

Refrain
I will follow Thee, my Saviour,
Thou didst shed Thy blood for me;
And though all men should forsake Thee;
By Thy grace I’ll follow Thee.

Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank You for the incredible power You give us. Help us to not just know about You, but to take action and follow You every day. Give us the courage to live for You, to love others, and to make a difference in our world. Guide us on this journey with You, and help us to experience Your power in our lives. In Your mighty name, we pray. Amen.
