*Topic* : Abel –the First Obedient Child

_Abel brought the best parts of his best sheep. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift. Gen. 4:4 ICB_

Two brothers were given the same assignment to do; the two of them knew the right thing to do. But the elder brother chooses to do the wrong thing, while the younger chose to do the right thing. This is what Cain and Abel did. While Cain chose to be the first bad brother in the world, Abel chose to be the first good child to God and his parents.
Adam and Eve had taught them how to worship God, and what they must use to offer sacrifice to God. Cain refused to use the right one, while Abel used the right sacrifice. This shows Abel’s love for God. And he became the first obedient child of God in the world and God loved him too.
The same thing happens when we love God with all our heart, and obey our parents in the LORD, just as Abel did; God will love us too. Today, there are children like Cain who do not want to worship God: they don’t want to keep God’s Sabbath day holy, they don’t want to return God’s tithe and offerings even when they are given money. There are still children that disobey God and their parents. But God wants you and I to be like Abel: to always be the first to love and obey Him as Abel did; because Jesus is coming again to take every obedient child to heaven to live with him. I hope you want to be there?

Dear Lord in heaven, please help me to have the Spirit You gave to Abel, so that I will always make You first in my heart and life. And let Your light shine through me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
