Title: Hidden treasure revealed

My son, if thou will receive my words and hide my commandments with thee; so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom and apply thine heart to understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God – Proverbs 2:1-2, 5

As we grow up, we are encouraged to memorize Bible verses and keep them in our hearts. These verses help us trust in God and remind us of His promises in every situation. The Bible is like a treasure chest, filled with hope and promises for us to discover. In Proverbs 22:6, it says that parents have a special responsibility to teach their children about God’s ways. A contemporary music group and composers, Phillips, Craig and Dean, in their song on parental responsibility says :

“ I whisper a prayer that someday he’ll see
He’s got a father in God ‘cause he’s seen Jesus in me.

Chorus
Lord, I want to just be like you
‘ cause he wants to be just like me
Want to be a holy temple for his innocent eyes to see.
Help me be a living Bible, Lord that my little boy can read, I want to be like you cause he wants to be like me.

Thoughts for Reflection/Life Application
1.Take time each day to read and meditate on a verse from the Bible. Ask God to reveal its hidden treasures to you.

2.Trust in God’s promises and seek His guidance in all situations. Remember that He is always with you and will protect you.

3.Share the treasures you find in the Bible with others. Encourage them to seek God’s word and experience the joy and victory it brings

4.Be a living example of God’s love and character to those around you, especially younger children. Show them what it means to follow Jesus and be like Him.

Song
I Serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world today;
I know that he is Living, Whatever men may say;
I see his hands of mercy, I hear his voice of cheer
And just the time I need him He’s always near.

Refrain
He lives, He lives Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me, And talks with me’ Along life’s narrow way
He lives, He lives, Salvation to impact!
You ask me how I know he lives?
He lives within my heart.

Prayer
Dear God, thank you for the hidden treasures in your word. Help us to understand and apply them in our lives. Give us the wisdom to trust in you completely and depend on you for victory and guidance. May your word be a source of joy and happiness in our hearts. In Jesus’ name, amen.
