There are strong indications that the recently conducted state and ward congresses of the All Progressives Congress, APC, recorded an impressive turnout in all the 27 Local Government Areas of the state, especially in Aboh Mbaise LGA.

It was gathered that a certain politician from a particular ward in Aboh Mbaise (nameswitheld), and one time speaker of Imo State House, had alleged that the congress exercise recorded low turnout in the area, an allegation he made to blackmail the leaders of APC in Aboh Mbaise LGA.

However, impeccable sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity accused the former speaker of Imo State House of Assembly of working against the growth of the party in the area, adding that the latter has continuously tried to undermine the success of the party in the LGA, insisting that the ex lawmaker is a strong member of the All Progressives Grand Allaince, APGA.

One of the sources also alleged that only Oke Uvuru Ward 1 recorded different congress from other wards in Aboh Mbaise, adding that the said ward is where the ex lawmaker comes from.

The source noted that the congress was very peaceful and it had stakeholders and members of the party coming out enmass to elect through a consensus, leaders of the party in the various party wards of the state.

He accused the ex lawmaker of working assiduously to rubbish the image and efforts of the Governor towards strengthening the party in the state, while expressing confidence that the ex principal lawmaker of the state State Assembly will soon be sanctioned by the disciplinary Committee of the party.

He noted that APC has built a strong structure in the three LGA of Mbaise, adding that no amount of blackmail will make the Governor to patronize enemies of the party in any LGA of the State.
