D-Day: Great Ife Alumni, Imo State Chapter To Honour Distinguished Members
The Great Ife Alumni Association of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Imo State Chapter will today roll out drums to honour some of its Greats who have attained enviable heights in their differing professional careers.
The the Association had scheduled Sunday, December 12, 2021 when it shall honour deserving Members who have distinguished themselves in the professional careers among others who have also shown undiluted commitment to the growth and advancement of the course of Great Ife Alumni Association, Imo State chapter.
Venue of the Ceremony is at The Legend Hotel, New Owerri, Imo State.
In a statement by the Chairman of Imo State Chapter of the Association, Chief Charles Okeke popularly known as Odiuko, he said the appreciation of its members who have attained excellence in their different professional careers is not only timely desirable.
His words: “This year’s end of the Year get together is coming with a lot of bangs. Great Ife Alumni Association has come of age as it parades galaxy of stars who have distinguished themselves in all works of life. We have agreed amongst ourselves to honour them.
“In the academia, our members have distinguished themselves as Professors and Greats minds. They brought innovations to their institutions. In Medical practice, we are not found wanting. In Law practice, we parade largest numbers of Senior Advocates with other Senior Lawyers who are doing very well.
” “Of course we have produced even Justices and many others.
“These are good Ambassadors of the Great Citadel of Learning observing all ethos and ethics as they were groomed in learning and culture. We now have young ones towing the same path with us. We need to motivate them with these Great Achievers. We are many in Imo State and looking forward to uniting many others.
“Again, there are also those who have not only done well in their profession but have shown obstinacy to ensure sustenance of the Association. Such personalities have had to sacrifice even their own comfort for the sake of the Association. We are honouring them.
“Tomorrow will be a bang in Cerebral exercise, honouring of our First Eleven and appreciating one another, with our families also around to appreciate hard work, determination and strength of character”.
