Responsible Gambling

18+ only. Some of our content discusses betting and includes match predictions. Betting should only ever be a form of entertainment. It is not a way to make money or solve money problems.

Our Position

NewsTrack Nigeria does not operate a betting service and does not accept bets. Our predictions are opinions only, and no result is ever guaranteed. We encourage every reader to treat betting with care.

Age Limit

You must be at least 18 years old to bet. If you are under 18, please do not use betting sites or apps. Make sure that betting is legal in your area and that you use licensed operators only.

Simple Rules for Safer Betting

  • Set a budget before you bet and stick to it.
  • Only use money you can afford to lose.
  • Never chase your losses.
  • Do not bet when you are upset, stressed or drunk.
  • Take regular breaks and keep track of your time and spending.
  • Do not borrow money to gamble.

Signs of a Problem

Gambling may be becoming a problem if you spend more than you planned, hide your betting from family, feel anxious when you are not betting, or borrow money to bet. If any of this sounds familiar, stop and seek help.

Where to Get Help

Talk to someone you trust, such as a friend, a family member or a counsellor. Many betting operators offer tools to set limits or to block your account for a period of time. Free support services also exist online, such as BeGambleAware (begambleaware.org) and Gamblers Anonymous (gamblersanonymous.org). Please look for support that is available in your area.
